Former banker Shauna Liu discovered a courtyard in Old Beijing and transformed it into a delightful 14-room boutique hotel that provides all your modern comforts while sacrificing none of the 500-year-old building's integrity. Each of the rooms are positioned around a cute courtyard and decorated in a Chinese chic fashion with chartreuse walls, Tibetan rugs, southern Chinese silks and slate bathroom floors. Though not as spacious as the Suites, the Deluxe Superior (number 203) is the room to book, with higher ceilings and views of the bustling street outside.
